I am so excited to welcome you to my website.
My name is Jessica Schultz Pleasant. I have spent a significant time around local politics.
I have been a long time Conservative; I was a child of two Reaganites. I feel better for it.
Even more so today!
When I was 15 years old and a sophomore, I made the first female rushing touchdown
in a male high school varsity football game. I played along side my brother who played wide receiver. I excelled in JROTC. I joined the Army just before 9/11; I left early for basic out of patriotism. I gave up a softball scholarship to leave early.
I lived in TN for most of my life, thankfully leaving San Diego at 15 years old. I went on to make speeches to the disenfranchised children of the Appalachians; that sure do not experience a white privilege benefits. This town became home to me and I found myself welcomed on a county HS football team in 1998. So much for the general belief that the south are anti women's rights.
As an adult, my greatest achievement was the birth of my son. I fear radical feminism, which is not real feminism, will demand my son to not be who he is. Radical feminists create the monsters they hate for being abusive. When you make a child hate part of himself you make him insecure. An insecure man is more dangerous than a man given the right guidance to use his capabilities for good.
I am a paralegal and studied environmental science. So I am prone to speak about legal and environmental issues. I was a heavy wheel vehicle mechanic in the Army. I spent time in service as honor guard for Eastern Tennessee, laying our fallen soldiers to rest. I volunteered within Domestic Violence charities and volunteered in a teen maternity home. In Tennessee, I co-founded an animal rescue, Friends of Campbell County Animals, Tennessee. They can be found on Facebook if you would like to donate.
I am an artist. I create drawings, miniatures, table top gaming models. I love the forgotten skills of the past like crocheting and needlepoint. These are skills that some day may be needed again. It is quite sad these traditions went out the door. I know men knew how to do the same skills because of survival. Historically men needed to learn to repair clothing for survival. So, I don't think we should consider this women's work. In a period that did not have television, the image of the women sitting around slaving over needlework was likely to avoid boredom. LOL We should always think of people in the past as people of their own time.
I hope that my voice can be of some value to my readers and viewers.
